Vue 5 Infinite split water (my latest craze! ) with Poser 6.3 for imports. I did do a lot of post to add all the little detail critters, because once the mermaid and pirate/boat were in place with the plants and all, vue gave me a warning...which I heeded... so added the teeny critters post. I needed to do a lot of post on the terrain, and on the odd tail of the Lost Realms V4 mermaid tail anyway. My big challenge here was to learn to make a caustic spot light! I used Traveler's (RDNA) caustic map, and REDUCED it waaay down to get the smaller pattern, and then I learned how to put it on the light..and save the light too!
Yes, I know that there are no Armadillos in Australia...and maybe no Monarch butterflies/caterpillars... but I just had to bring these critters all together in celebration of CodemanStudios talent! .... and if I had known in time he just put out an Aardvark, I would have added him to this "unlikely" scene! D Find CodemanStudios critters at the Renderosity Market!
I enjoyed doing another split water... I made a hole in a mountain, and put an ordinary little plane in it with a water mat applied, the camera (per sacada's great vue split water tutorial!) near....Monsoons' Earthenwear- still the best materials ever!!!... I added the DAZ perch, Noggin's dragonfly and lobsters (squished them a little to fake a crayfish!) and a housefly (I think that was from CP, but not sure). Linda's Lush grasses and undergrowth. Vue 5 Infinite and poser 6.3 to import all the critters. Post to fix little things here and there.
Life can be beautiful but there are dangers lurking, counsels the dolphin to the young mermaid.....
So how did I do this? a TORUS! Don't let the torus cast shadows! A flattened torus with the center part all the way to a tiny 98% opening (100% would be closed). The camera is right in the middle...Just make sure your torus is flat... or use the plane like in sacada's tutorial! Actually this is probably a lot more complicated than it needed to be, so I would suggest his split water tutorial over anything I could offer, by far!
SP3 - Irena by Blackhearted and her Havoc (DAZ) monster, testing Vue new version.
SP3 - Irena by Blackhearted and her Havoc (DAZ) monster before, but this came about because I was testing the two updates: Vue 5 Infinite's update .11 and Poser 6's update SR3. bob4artist's background from Renderosity Marketplace.
M3-Raven by Diao(Poser Pros), Wildside hair by Littlefox (RDNA) Mil Horse (DAZ) with my morphs/texture and flying crows (Vista Internet Products). Plants in vue 5.11 Infinite by Linda (Lush plants at Cornucopia). Noggin Dragonfly and Poser bullfrog. Post in photoshop for centaur man and horse waist/hip area. This started out in vue 6, but between my dyslexia and it's bugs I have decided to STAY with vue 5 till 6 is "real"...sure makes me APPRECIATE how great vue 5 Infinite IS! :) I know vue 6 Infinite will be just as great in a few months or so, and am glad I am an owner so I will be ready when they get it out of beta...meanwhile I shall continue to learn vue 5... one thing I have learned is NEVER use a water plane....that seems to have been my problem... so now I use terrains for water! :))
Ever since I saw Monsoon's The Deep (at the 3D Commune store now!) I had this image in mind! I used one of the handy "example scene files" in the set to start, took most things out after studying it, and then put in things I wanted, topping it off with Hiro-Hitoro by Capsces Digital Ink, Lobo75's Hiro texture and Lost Realms mer tail and textures - all from DAZ. The trident is from the Dwarf sets by John Malis. Vue Infinite 5.9 (my first render with the 9 update since I got it working!!!) The Deep is the best thing that could have EVER come
Momoko A3 Mermaid is not at all sure she wants visitors to her reef! Monsoon's The Deep (at the 3D Commune store now!) with "reef cliffs" per his tutorial is SO much fun!! In this one I was able to get a handle on the included caustic lighting, along with the alpha beams (she said beaming! )) Vue Infinite 5.9 Full size (un-cropped) version at my Renderosity Gallery)
Old Enzio plays Harry's raging Uncle, and barely seen in the lower window, Ichiro plays Harry, stunned at the sight of so many owls and letters.... I worked every so hard, with a crashing- locking up poser 6 file and then a vue 5 Infinite scene file...and finally had to resort to this POV - so that the items I was forced to remove to save the scene file would not show empty spaces. ( I had a whole development of homes, an asphalt street, more trees... but no go said vue! So I took all but the foreground house and one background one out, stuck trees and fences in, and tilted the camera waaay down! I added a LOT of owls by post layer work, as well as all the letters. I did post on Zippy's cute cottage to make it work in vue....and so I am finished for better or worse. Sigh.. Noggin's great owl set was the total inspiration for this idea that had me tied up for days now.
Dave71's Finn outfit for Aiko which included hair (RDNA) with her Owl companion (Noggin-DAZ) and Maned Wolf (my morph & Map of the Poser Wolf can be found in my Color of Wolves at Vista Internet Products) protect her lands. Monsoon's ecowear, Dreampaint's free vue plant- trees. Just a touch of post to brush the edges of the wolf, owl feathers and her hair. Vue Infinite 5.7, Poser 6 and photoshop.
The morning sun (courtesy of Heidi's Vue atmospheres) changed the dark Monsoon ecowear rocks to golden, as Aiko Freja watches the elusive Sixus Griffin fly off....and oh oh! There is a strange little Sixus man down below! Does he pose a threat? Vue 5.07 Infinite, post in photoshop on the Griffin to blur for flight. I am loving Monsoons' new ecowear - the mats inspire images! )
I used the beautiful Brielle For Aiko 3 by Sarsa & Thorn and she wears the NEW Glorious Hair by 3 Dream. Her upper body pose is by from the Mermaid package by Firebirdz, with the tail pose by me.The rock to the left is part of the Unique Rock Formations by the hankster. Flying Seagulls by Noggin. Shell is a prop trans map from Snowfire Graphics Environment set. I made seaweed by smashing the vue seaweed plant flat and laying it down in the water. Again, I am playing with the water splashes by Wabe...and the water terrain...and one thing led to another!
NO POST OF ANY KIND! When all the elements work together so well, it's a pure pleasure to feel I do not need to do post! ) Vue Infinite 5.8. (trying out the update- so far so good!) Photoshop only for my signature!
Dinotopia Inspired~Waterfall city has lovely white buildings in a fantasy style, so the DAZ TajMahal works for it, with the DAZ gall-i-whatsis dino for the professor, a duckbill dino from Dedicated Digital CD (works after I fixed the joints and enhanced it's map, it's pretty nice) - the duckbill is wearing a piece of Kente clothing for a shirt, and an ear cuff freebie for it's horn decoration! Hero is one of the boys (good grief, love Dinotopia and the names escape me! / - the one that is forced to raise his "cami" baby (thanks to ScottA!!). Aiko is the lovely Dinotopia daughter with the "sun-stone" on her necklace, wearing DAZ outfit, with Baby Doll hair (sorry can't remember which character skin for them)....Trees by Dreampaint for vue, and Vue's boolean flower pots.... Lots of post to fix up clothes, background, etc.
I was inspired by Anne Sudworth...and this is what came out. Steve's Trees - Cottonwood (my store), Bloodsong's P4 horse/DAZ original eagle Hippogriff, Mil Horse Unicorn (my texture, with eye candy enhanced mane and tail). Ground is an Earthenware material and there are many eco-systems with vue trees. The GIRL as a fairy wearing the christmas dress with parts made invisible, and a cloth texture added. Vue 5 Infinite and photoshop.
This all started from a conversation with Wabe on how to make a split sea scene...a cube with water on it, a terrain with water on it above, AND Wabe's new experimental "splashes" vue objects he is working on.... I wanted to try out the splashes, constructed the scene and this just fell together! )) My pelicans, Noggin's gulls, Aiko with Rena's DOLL texture, Mada's Lion Fish mermaid texture, Curls hair by April from here, Firebirdz mermaid pose modified just a tad, Fish from DAZ, FREE seaweed from RDNA by Traveler, and an overlay by Linda White that came with her underwater IC3- caustics layer that I put over the bottom half...I did add a bit of 'bubble's with the "water drops" of Eye Candy 4. There is NO post on the top half- the waves or the splashes, fish or birds!! I have been afraid of vue water, but I must say I had fun with this!
Monsoon has done it again! ) This is FUN!! It's called The Edge of Space and you can find it in his store at 3D Commune! I whirled the camera around, replaced on of the included ships, played with the planets... I did add a little more "space" with my Universe photoshop plug in (more stars, the gas in the upper left).... He said you have to turn off shadows on the material but I just turned it off ON THE SUN and that kept the ship from having a shadow on the planet! Blur added to ship post and a bit more engine flame than I could do in vue...oh and I painted in a suggestion of a pilot.
This is one I did while just playing around with Monsoon's (3D Commune) Edge of Space. I love watching my Alien Nation DVD's...and when I tossed a photo texture on the ground "planet" this happened! I thought it looked very real, and sort of like a Google Earth view...so I put in the squashed spheres for the ships and rendered! I did do a TINY bit of cloning for some of the ground texture areas that went into a pattern, but that was expected since the texture did not come with the Edge of Space. Vue Infinite 5.7 and photoshop.
