BEFORE IMPORTING POSER 6 PZ3'S INTO VUE!

How to Create a Bump Using an Image-
Normally used in conjunction with the "color map"
I was just told an easier way to asign an image for the bump! :) I am using KromeKat's Coastal Elements - Cliff photo for this. (sold at Renderosity)
It is extremely important to set your Poser 6 Prefs to help the import into Vue! You need to prevent poser 6 from saving the morphs separately on figures, and also prevent compression!! I found this out the hard way, when my figures did not come into vue as expected!!
Another little secret, is once you have imported a scene of figures or figure into vue, UNGROUP it- and it will no longer be connected to your poser! Make sure you are happy with the poser import pose and will not be changing it... then ungroup and if you delete the original pz3, your vue scene will remain intact! :)
These are my saved render settings for Vue Infinite to allow me to get the fastest render time with the highest quality image (at Final and Broadcast, just like I am used to in old original Vue 4)
I also learned I should turn the Ambient light "off" by moving the slider all the way to sunlight to help prevent "grainy" rendered images.
Another way to get CLEAR renders is to turn the fog and haze down... of course sometimes you WANT a hazy picture...
I personally turn off the default Lens Flair and turn the shadows to half, so my figures are not so darkly shadowed.
All of these things were, for me, to get my new Infinite renders to come as close to what I was used to in Vue 4 - I did NOT like the quality of the renders of 5 at the default state. I found the grainy look very annoying!
This was probably in other Vue's... but I just found it much to my delight! I can make all sorts of colorful skies using the color bar! Just one note, takes a bit to learn which color will go at the top of the sky and which will end up at the land/sky horizon area!
Now don't ask me to tell you which is which - not with my dyslexia! But seeing/doing will show you!
OH an easier way to assign bump with an image!! Look at next "page"! :)
To start this process GO INTO YOUR MATERIAL EDITOR AND INTO THE BASIC MODE! Advance is the default mode - I never even saw the Basic myself! :) Just click the button at the upper left of your editor to go into this Basic mode editor!
