PHOTOSHOP FUR TUTORIAL

I have more 'brushing fur' tips there.
This is the photo I used for the raccoon texture map. I cut and
pasted the appropriate areas
onto the Poser cat map, in Photoshop. I used the clone tool, extensively, to fill up the
map
areas with 'fur'. Using 'real' fur helps give that nice rough contrasty texture for
the bump to
build from. I sometimes increase the contrast even more, on my map, but be sure not
to loose
any of the 'natural' coloring of the fur! Note: Bryce tends to change the map from what
you see
in photoshop. You may have to go back to either lighten or darken the fur for it to look
right in
Bryce. Using Photoshop "Adjust-Curves" is a nice way to lighten or darken,
without loosing any
image quality and color! I may go back and forth between Bryce and Photoshop a few times
to
get the map the way I want. I also tend to keep the Bryce 'sun' at a low angle to show the
coat well.

note: I used this same technique in many of my Bryce Animals!
