Getting shadows to show up in a render when
you do not have a ground plane for them to cast onto!
See below for explanation!

if you want to keep the shadows cast by your
figures in a P5 render, but not the ground plane - to save out as a tif or
psd with an alpha that INCLUDES THE SHADOWS, use these settings... JUST don't
forget to make the ground show up first as shown in my image, so the
shadows have a place to fall ONTO... I keep forgetting where to find the ground,
so I did my screen capture with the menu showing.... also very important- in
those tiny sub boxes of materials make sure you have 1.0000 as shown... just one
still set at 0 will make the thing not work... and of course your transparency
things set to 1..... Then it is a matter of having lights that are placed to
cast shadows
the way you want them to! That is another lesson altogether!
