A Vue of an Orange Orchard

There is a long story about how this image came to be... or almost didn't... If
you don't know
the story of the 'non-sinking orange trees' then you can "click
here" to see what I went
through in an effort to make more realistic orange trees... and then after the fact, I
found that
I COULD "sink the trees below the ground plane" due to some sort of resolved
glitch... and
THEN discovered that Vue has a " .bak " thing... where I re-discovered my
original scene file!!
(I was told unless you disable it, it's default that vue will create a bak file... but I
didn't really
pay attention because my vue only creates an occasional bak file, when it feels like it!
:) )
This image is nostalgic for me, as I grew up "in an orange orchard"... grin...
well not outdoors
in the orchard, but in a home surrounded on three sides by orange trees! I played in
the orchard
so much of the time... I remember the wild life well... yes, squirrels do love oranges...
and there
were crows around a lot... When Vue had an orange tree in the 'extra vegetation' package,
I had
to have it.... But vue's orange trees are a bit odd... as a real orange tree has a slender
dark trunk, with
thinner branches... and the oranges sure do not hang from "poles" (see the old image page!), but
when I could sink the trees down, it helped them look better... and I took it's orange
material, saved it
in the library, then made MANY spheres, applied the orange material and then began to put
them on the trees to supplement the few that were on them..... and on the ground. There
are actually
a LOT of trees in this image, a true orchard... and this new render of my old image needed
nearly
no post work.. I did darken the tree trunks down a bit, cloned the ground material to set
the trees
more into the ground, as well as the squirrels... and all in all.. finally am a
"happy camper" now! :)
